Final Mile Logistics was called on to develop a consistent, reliable and cost effective transportation solutions for products to be delivered to a US Government customer to multiple locations in Iraq.

Our Team developed a truck convoy route for all products through the Jordan ports of Aqaba (ocean shipments) and Amman (air shipments). At the Jordan/Iraq border, Final Mile Logistics contracted security to escort the convoys to their ultimate locations at US Military bases within Iraq. Final Mile Logistics provided a solution to handle all the air freight shipments into Amman, Jordan

Final Mile Logistics was able to deliver products with zero loss, zero fatalities, and provide the customer cost savings crucial to their operations in Iraq. As a result, Final Mile Logistics has been awarded subsequent contracts for air freight services for this Government customer, which accounts for 53% of their worldwide air freight lanes.

The United Nations chose Beirut, Lebanon as its hub for receiving shipments of critical cargo destined to Syria.  Due to the nature of the cargo and potential political backlash, shipments have been treated with a high level of discretion.  Recently, a Final Mile Logistics (FML) customer was tasked to charter two 747 aircraft on behalf of DTRA for the UN in Beirut, Lebanon in less than 24 hours.

FML was able to secure two 747 aircrafts and stage all cargo from their Chambersburg, PA facility to JFK. After arranging for the aircraft that would effectively and efficiently accommodate the cargo being shipped, the FML Operations Center coordinated the process for timely positioning of the aircraft for loading while simultaneously preparing the administrative tasks of clearing the cargo for departure with the governments involved and arranging for the arrival of the aircraft in Beirut.  The windows of opportunity were limited so it was imperative that the aircraft depart on time from the origins.

The shippers required telephonic and electronic status advisories throughout the duration of the flights and these requirements were fulfilled to the customer’s satisfaction.   To assure a smooth hand off in Beirut FML dispatched an Arabic speaking representative to work with the charter airline, Lebanese Customs Agents and the UN representatives.  Both charter missions were successfully completed within the allowable times and within budget.

Final Mile Logistics has been the primary subcontractor of transportation services for MODE Transportation’s contract with USAID funded Jhpiego (Johns Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynecology and Obstetrics). Founded in 1974, Jhpiego , has been innovating to save the lives of women and families worldwide.

FML’s role is crucial to the success of Jhpiego’s humanitarian missions. FML is tasked with successfully transporting supplies and medical equipment from the continental United States (CONUS) into West Africa (Ghana, Guinea Liberia, Mali), and East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia). Over the past 8 months, FML has successfully transported over 90,000lbs of materiel to these destinations.

Our service record supporting MODE Transportation and Jhpiego has been exceptional, with 100% of shipments reaching their destination on time, and in-tact.

The Final Mile Logistics Team was called upon to develop solutions for a mining customer to coordinate and supervise the transportation of heavy haul deliveries and break bulk cargo to their Nzema mine site in Ghana. Heavy haul includes Ball/SAG Mill shell/heads/motors, mining vehicles, crusher mainframes/toggles and transport of oversize steel fabrications.

Over the course of the contract with this customer, our Team was able to implement transportation solutions, providing the customer with on time, and within budget deliveries of critical mining equipment and supplies. Additionally, our Team was enabled swift customs clearance as well as safe and secure shipment of high value cargo with zero loss or incurred damage.

The Final Mile Logistics Team provides logistics support services for a leading petroleum corporation in their operations in north-eastern Mozambique. The scope of work centers on managing the supply chain and port handling services for this customer's offshore petroleum mining projects.

Central to this project is the operation of various material handling equipment (MHE) including heavy lift boom cranes and all-terrain forklifts. Our Team is responsible for equipment to perform services 24/7, provide our customer with office space, on site personnel, and the mobilization of approximately 4,000 Metric Tons of Cargo. Without exception, our Team has provided our customer with all services required within the parameters of the contract.
